The astronomical winter has finally arrived. And baby, it’s cold outside! Luckily you needn’t compromise on either warmth or style when it comes to winter workwear.
Last week I shared some gorgeous winter office outfit ideas with warm sweaters and knit dresses. This week the winter workwear inspiration continues with some gorgeous layered looks, and long coat styling ideas.
Guaranteed to send the message “I do not compromise on my work style, even in the coldest of weather.”
Winter Workwear Layering Ideas
Knitwear
To start with, here are some brilliant layering looks with knitwear. Polo necks, cropped knits, cardigans, long sweaters – don’t limit yourself! Just adding a plain white shirt immediately transforms it into a chic office-approved look.
You can even layer a sweater and belt it on your favorite sleeveless dress – the perfect summer to fall transition outfit. Layer a coat on top and you have a warm winter outfit. I generally opt for a polo neck when styling it this way. The sweater neckline covers the dress neckline almost creating the illusion that I’m wearing a skirt.

Blazers and Waistcoats
The most traditional office layering look is a sweater on a plain white shirt. Although it can be spiced up (as seen above) it certainly isn’t the only layering work look.
You can layer multiple outerwear items. Like a coat on a blazer on a sweater. Or a fur coat on a suit. It will not only keep you warm and cosy but also super stylish. As seen on some of the most stylish women so get inspired!
Long Winter Coat
Speaking of layering, some of the best warm and stylish winter office looks can be created with a long coat. To me, it oozes power, firmness and elegance – all important qualities for successful boss ladies. Here are some great looks and long coats to buy to get the look.
